Covid-19 Taking Over Mental Health
Covid-19 Taking Over Mental Health
“It is not the strongest of the
species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to
change” -Charles Darwin.
Stress is one of those
features that are any internal or external which depends upon its alignment.
Human act at work is directly related to the stress level at any cause. Stress
to a certain level is mandatory to increase the quality of work and a positive
direction in this concern. Now a days, stress originating due to pandemic situations,
covid-19 break outs which is leading huge loss in the companies and to the
economic outcome of the work and its foremost to the incompetent or mediocre
performance at all levels. Stress has become one of the most leading factors in
staff inefficiency or truncated productivity or burdened the students more than
they usually were before the quarantine.
Stress is not a recent
phenomenon, but is no more obvious than during times of organizational change
and the recent times of lockdown worldwide. Emphasizing the basic difficulties
that any individual may have challenged under such circumstances and pointing
to possible methods to continue and remediate self-stress. The most important
element that stress is worsened when processes, such as organizational change
and mental health crunch occur in a cloud of obscurity and uncertainty, when
these processes are commenced without consultation with the surrounding or
without anyone else, and when changes are either miscommunicated or not
connected at all.
How specific tried to
sustain their psychological health during this outbreak situation and are
learning to cope with the work stress. Primarily, while many people involved in
this global quarantine relied more on their strengths because of the distress
of seeming weak.
The demographic change
which is referring to the worldwide crisis through the COVID-19, this has
caused a stir in the world and which has created many problems one being mental
health issues, which is the main argument now a days. This sudden increase in
mental health issues is due to the massive shift in work from homes and of
global quarantines. This show that as humans that we can handle change but do
not overthrow well with uncertainty, this clearly shows through a study that
since the pandemic there has been a 75% increase in social isolation, 67%
people are in higher stress than usual, 57% are feeling anxiety and lastly 53%
are more emotionally unstable according to 2,700 employees of 10 different
industries undertaken by Qualtrics and SAP during the months of March and April
2020.
It is declared that the
stress levels of the different group age people for employees who do they
choose to talk about mental health; managers need to practice supportive
listening, and teachers need to ease burden over students. Don’t try to solve
everything all at once. Instead just listen seek to genuinely understand and
ensure that people feel hard and don’t be afraid to open up to you. I suspect
that a desire to respect privacy is inhibiting this individual conversation. Conversing
about the current ongoing mental health is not a tranquil and equipped
conversation. One way to help people deal with uncertainty is by providing
consistency, especially in how and when you communicate. When you come to
pandemic, more than 90 percent of people said they wanted to at least weekly
communication for their networks. It is not only for the leader to take care of
their teams we need to take care of our leaders also. Make sure that you are
very clear about the mental health recourses available to everyone who is
working with you or working like you. Secondly even others’ fear and anxiety
are high, counseling and therapy, new skills training or a short leave absence
may facilitate adjustment.
Reviewing one study that
shows that 235 employees after a large housing corporation in the Netherlands
that was also facing a union. Those who had positive relationships with their
company managers, who felt that the environment of the company is supportive;
there would be more positive changes. The more frequent way that the
organization can minimize negative impact is to make sure change is implemented
fairly. The one important thing which is lineup construction uses high communication
group activities to increase trust and honesty between team members improve
efforts and increase team performance and the intergroup development seeks to
change group, attitude, stereo types and perception about each other. Among
several approaches for improving intergroup relation a popular one emphasizes
problem solving. Each group meets independently to list its perception for
itself and of the other group and how it believes the other group observes.
Pressures to avoid errors or complete task in a limited time work overload,
demanding your principals, teachers, boss, employees and students are also the
examples. Some people are thriving on stressful situations while others are
overwhelmed by them. There are many structural issues that is the reason stress
mainly task and part loads are controlled by supervision and thus can be
adapted easily or can be changed.
