Flaws In Education System Of Pakistan and Its Affects

The major flaws in the education system of Pakistan are; outdated syllabus, education became a profitable business and no career counseling with very limited amount of fields for students to choose from which limits Pakistani students knowledge to specific fields and has a negative impact on the development of Pakistan.

The outdated syllabus holds students back in the ongoing race of innovation and technology of this modern era, where up-to-date knowledge is the basic requirement to compete with the 21^st century generation, because other countries are far ahead of Pakistan in terms of education which is why there is lack of employment opportunities and poverty rate is not decreasing. If students are provided with syllabus which does not have practical effective implications in the real world then is clear that the Pakistan will keep falling behind from the rest of the world and other countries will take advantage of it.

Career counseling plays a vital role in a student’s as it clears the path and directs the student in the right direction according to his/her skills but unfortunately in Pakistan, career is not practiced and mostly students follow a particular field not by their own choice but because of being forced or compelled to do so due to which the interest and productivity level of today’s youth is quite low. The employment opportunity also decreases and entrepreneurship skills are also rarely taught in selected educational institution which results in close to none upward social mobility.

Lack of fields for students to choose from bounds the students to study the available fields due to which competition increases and the ones who have resources to get better education get all the jobs due to which middle class students which are in majority suffer from unemployment and insufficient monthly income which mostly results in increasing crime rate in Pakistan.

These flaws in education system result in poverty, hunger, unemployment and increasing crime rate which can be significantly reduced if government focuses on improving the education system of Pakistan by updating syllabus every year, providing career counseling and vast variety of fields to choose from and by spending more on educational rather than military
